What a missing-letter worksheet is
The name prints on every row, but one letter is replaced with a blank box — a different letter each time. A child fills in whichever letter is missing on that row, working through every letter in the name by the bottom of the page.
Recall practice, not tracing practice
Tracing worksheets build the motor pattern for writing a letter shape. A missing-letter worksheet checks something different — whether a child actually remembers how the whole name is spelled, one letter at a time, without a full outline to copy.
How the worksheets are organized
Missing-letter worksheets are grouped first by country, then by gender, using the same country and gender groupings as this site's regular name tracing library. Each name has its own page with a real, pre-rendered worksheet sized to that name's own length.
How the images themselves are made
Every missing-letter worksheet is rendered through the same underlying engine as this site's interactive editor and every other worksheet — the printed letters use the same font and calibration, with one new element: the blank box a child writes their answer into.
