Building on List 1
List 2 continues directly from List 1, covering the next batch of Grade 3's sight words. Working through these lists in order, rather than jumping around, keeps the overall Grade 3 vocabulary building steadily rather than scattering practice unevenly.
What the Grade 3 list is building toward
The Dolch Grade 3 list is the final tier of the original list, and its words — "together," "myself," "laugh" — are generally longer and less phonetically obvious than earlier lists, closer to the vocabulary a child will encounter in genuine chapter books. Mastering this list is usually treated as a practical benchmark: a reader who knows all 220 Dolch words by sight has covered a large share of the highest-frequency words in ordinary English text.
Using this worksheet effectively
Mixing in a brief review of List 1 alongside new List 2 words reinforces both sets together rather than letting the earlier one fade. Every worksheet here downloads as a free, print-ready PDF with no account required.
